THE RIGHT APPROACH TO TREATING BAD BREATH
Treating Bad Breath
Years of experience have allowed me to develop my own cure for bad breath. Once you’ve learned the necessary steps to efficiently fight anaerobic bacteria, treating bad breath then becomes a matter of technique. Here I’ll show you EXACTLY how I do it.
Keep in mind that although
90% of chronic bad breath is caused by anaerobic bacteria,
we all need to adapt the treatments to our specific needs. You may be more prone to
gum disease
for instance, maybe have
white tongue,
or
post nasal drip
etc. The treatments I reveal will treat all these conditions, but you may have to make some adjustments to meet your specific goals and ‘evolve’ with these cures.
The Right Tools For The Right Job
First, I need to mention the tools I use to achieve total control over my chronic halitosis condition.
Although I highly recommend anyone serious about fighting bad breath to acquire these tools, it can put some strain on a budget if you try to purchase them all at once.
Instead, try to acquire them progressively, the way I did, as you progress towards your treatments. But if you want long term relief from bad breath, you will need to get them eventually.
-
A sinus irrigator with its iodine-free nasal powder.
The iodine-free nasal wash is absolutely necessary. Over the counter nasal spays and sea water nasal wash are not for long term use. They will provide temporary relief, but repeated applications will eventually irritate your nasal passages. You can also use the iodine-free nasal solution to mix with filtered water and make your own nasal spray.
-
A sonic toothbrush.
If you’re using a regular toothbrush, don’t apply pressure on your gums and teeth. It serves absolutely no purpose except damage you teeth enamel and your gums.
- An Orabrush tongue scraper. There is no substitute for this tongue scraper. The Orabrush is very cheap and you absolutely need to get yourself one. There are no other tongue scrapers currently in the market that are half as efficient as this one. Remember, the tongue is the most important part of the mouth to clean!
The Products
Now, I'll show you how to make two different ways of treating bad breath because it’s important to have two different approaches to eliminate anaerobic bacteria. By doing so, you never allow it to ‘adapt’ to a single treatment and achieve higher efficiency. These products are cheap and widely available.
- Salt. To make toothpaste
- Baking Soda. To make toothpaste and use with Oral Irrigator
- Grape Seed Extract. Mid-morning, after lunch, and mid-afternoon mouthwash
Treating Bad Breath With Your Own Homemade Toothpaste
The oral hygiene industry is a worth $5 Billion a year. The last thing they would want is for you to find out that the vast majority of products that are sold over the counter are useless and completely ineffective for treating bad breath! For the real bacteria killers, try these :
First toothpaste, the oxygenation approach.
Mix 1 tea spoon of salt with 3 tea spoons of baking soda. Add 3% hydrogen peroxide and mix until it turns to a thick paste.
Some may find the need to dilute hydrogen peroxide with water and add peppermint essential oil for taste.
It takes a week or so to get used to the taste, but once you do, you’ll forget all other toothpastes you ever tried.
This toothpaste will clean, naturally whiten your teeth, and balance your mouth’s acidity levels. More importantly, It will eradicate bacteria responsible for bad breath!
With this homemade toothpaste, we use hydrogen peroxide as a potent oxygenating agent to kill anaerobic bacteria.
In short:
- 1 part salt.
- 3 parts baking soda.
- 3% Hydrogen Peroxide(can be diluted in water).
- Mix until it turns to a thick paste.
Second toothpaste, the anti-bacterial approach
Do exactly as above, one part salt and three parts baking soda. But instead of using hydrogen peroxide, use tea tree oil. This essential oil is extraordinary for killing bacteria and uses a completely different approach to it. Tea tree oil possesses exceptional chemical anti-bacterial properties and is one of the best natural remedies for bad breath.
Mix 5 drops of tea tree oil in as much water as needed to turn our salt/baking soda mix into a thick paste. Because it has a strong taste, you may use a drop or two of peppermint essential oil with it to soften its taste, but you get used to it very quickly. You may want to start off with 3 drops and work your way up to a maximum of 5 drops.
In short:
- 1 part salt.
- 3 parts baking soda.
- 3-5 drops of tea tree oil diluted in water.
- Mix until it turns to paste.
Treating Bad Breath With Your Own Bad Breath Mouthwash
I know most people use mouthwash on a daily basis in the hope of treating bad breath, but I still do need to explain how to mouthwash properly.
The two mouthwashes mentioned bellow must ABSOLUTELY NOT BE SWALLOWED!! That’s why I advise you to first ‘practice’ with tap water.
When you rinse and gargle, it's important to spend as much time with one and the other. To gargle properly, tilt your head back as far as you can and allow the mouthwash to penetrate the back of the throat without swallowing.
First mouthwash, the oxygenation approach
Hydrogen Peroxide Mouthwash. Simply mix hydrogen peroxide with an equal amount of water. Since we're using an oxygenation approach with hydrogen peroxide, don’t use chlorinated water. Chlorine will deplete hydrogen peroxide of its oxygen and make it less efficient. Mix with mineral or filtered water instead.
In short:
- Mix 3% Hydrogen Peroxide with mineral or filtered water (50 - 50 mix).
- Rinse and gargle for 60 seconds.
Second mouthwash, the anti-bacterial approach
Tea tree oil Mouthwash. Tea tree oil can be a little overwhelming at first, but you get used to it very quickly. Dilute no more than 5 drops into as much water necessary for the mouthwash. When beginning, try 2-3 drops and work your way up to a maximum of 5.
- Mix 3-5 drops of tea tree with enough mineral or filtered water for 1 mouthwash application.
- Rinse and gargle for 60 seconds.
Both of these mouthwashes are a bacteria’s worst nightmare. Use them both no more than twice a day for 90 seconds and don’t forget to gargle for at least half that time! DO NOT SWALLOW. Please do practice with tap water first.
Mid-morning and mid-afternoon solution
Grape Seed Extract. A great addition to treating bad breath and maintaining fresh breath all day. Grape seed extract doesn’t mix easily with water, so use a spoon to mix. Simply put 1-3 drops of GSE in as much water as necessary to rinse and gargle for 2 minutes. Use it mid-morning and mid-afternoon. If you get a chance to brush after lunch, use it then as well.
Grape seed extract is a natural anti-oxydant and can be ingested 3 times a day. It’ll clean you digestive system and kill opportunistic germs. At first, start with 1 drops of GSE and progressively work your way up. After a few weeks, simply drink the mixture you mouthwash with.
In short:.
- Mix 1-3 drops of grape seed extract with water.
- Mix thoroughly with spoon.
- Rinse and gargle for 2 minutes.
- Swallow mixture.
