TREAT BAD BREATH

Treat bad breath with the night time pre-emptive strike method

Treat bad breath, natural remedy for bad breath Cleaning your mouth before going to bed is of the outmost importance and will help you considerably take control of halitosis for the next day.

As a matter of fact, if you only had time to clean your mouth once a day, I’d advise you to do it at night!

When you don’t clean at night, you’re setting up an ideal environment for anaerobic bacteria during the entire time you sleep.

The increase in acidity levels will give them the ability to reproduce in perfect surroundings. They will have all night to feast on uncleaned food residue resulting in the release of a profusion of volatile sulphur compound.

To further make a bad situation worst, when your sleep your salivary gland go into standby mode and basically cut saliva flow until you wake up the next day.

The result can be catastrophic! Since I'll assume you have chronic bad breath that is caused by a bacterial imbalance in the mouth (90% of cases), waking up in the morning in such conditions will ruin your day.

Cleaning thoroughly with the products and techniques mentioned here is the basis in which you will treat bad breath. I‘ll guarantee you will wake up in the morning as fresh as a rose! You think I’m being presumptuous? Why don't you give it a try.

The technique is almost identical to the morning cleaning method except for a couple details. Strictly follow instructions to the letter:

Start scraping

We start our pre-emptive strike with the Orabrush tongue scraper. Don’t be excessively eager when scraping. The tongue is a sensitive organ and I consider it the most important part of the mouth to clean. If you cause tissue damage, you’ll have to wait until it heals to be able to clean it again. That means you will have to live with bad breath until it heals completely...so be gentle and take your time.

- Rinse mouth with warm tap water and gargle

- Scrape tongue gently in a back and forth motion for 30 seconds

- Rinse again and gargle

- Scrape again for 30 seconds

- Rinse and gargle

Flush bacteria out of the gum line to treat bad breath

Next step is to floss using the oral irrigator. If you don’t have one, use waxed flossing tape although I highly recommend you eventually get yourself an irrigator.

- Mix 2 tea spoons of baking soda in a small glass with warm filtered or mineral water

- Spill content of glass into oral irrigator tank and add warm water to about 30 ounces

- Place irrigator tip and turn on

- Aim tip at your gum line and clean all teeth front and back

Be careful at the settings of the irrigator! When you start out, begin with the lowest setting and progressively work your way up. If you’re not in the habit of flossing, your gums will bleed. Don’t worry, it’s a natural reaction. Your gums need time to strengthen and heal themselves.

Clean your tonsils

Ok, here is a tricky part of the cleaning process. We clean our tonsils with the oral irrigator. It's very effective at removing any residues inside the tonsil crypts and will remove any stones you may eventually have.

75% of chronic bad breath victims will have tonsil problems and will need to clean them every once in a while. This step is not meant to be taken daily, but more on a weekly basis.

Before beginning, YOU MUST ABSOLUTELY PUT THE IRRIGATOR TO ITS LOWEST SETTING!!! Because the tonsils are incredibly delicate, you take the risk of wounding them through any other setting.

- Rinse oral irrigator tank

- Fill tank with warm filtered water

- Aim irrigator tip towards your tonsil crypts

- Irrigate abundantly tonsils on both sides

It helps to use small flash light in front of the mirror when you proceed. Once you’re done, rinse tank and run the irrigator with fresh water for 20 additional seconds to rinse off any residue in the machine. Doing this will increase your oral irrigator's life span considerably.

Your mouth is a battlefield and mouthwash is artillery!

Now we mouthwash for 60 seconds the exact same way we did in the morning. Be sure to rinse and gargle for the same amount of time. I know I may be repeating myself here, but if you want the best possible results, it is of the outmost importance you do it correctly.

- Swish for 15 seconds.

- Gargle for 15 seconds.

- Swish for 15 seconds.

- Gargle for 15 seconds.

- Rinse and gargle with warm water thoroughly and repeatedly.

Remember DO NOT SWALLOW. Both the anti-bacterial and oxygenation mouthwashes are great to treat bad breath, and are harmless to your health as long as you end up spitting them out. So don’t swallow them any more than you would swallow Listerine!

Finally, brush teeth to treat bad breath

Treat bad breath For our last cleaning step, we brush. This is night time oral hygiene, so I would advise you take a little more time then you would in the morning.

I usually advise to brush for 2 minutes (30 seconds for each quadrant), but to treat bad breath more effectively try to add another minute or so to your brushing time. The more you brush the better!

Same as tongue scraping, be gentle on your teeth. Make sure you also brush you gums, roof of mouth and cheeks as gently and carefully as possible.

In doing so, you’ll remove bio-films that usually form in these areas.

- Dip toothbrush in toothpaste and brush tongue for one minute.

- Spit out excess toothpaste but do not rinse.

- Dip toothbrush again in toothpaste and brush tongue for an additional 20 seconds.

- Spit out excess toothpaste. Do not rinse.

- Dip toothbrush and brush each quadrant of the mouth for at least 30 seconds (2 minutes minimum).

- Spit out excess toothpaste. Do not rinse.

- Dip toothbrush in toothpaste and brush roof of mouth, gums, and cheeks.

- Rinse and gargle with warm water thoroughly and repeatedly.

Mission accomplished!

Now you’re done and can go to sleep knowing that you’re not giving bacteria any breaks. In the morning you will be surprised at your own breath!

In our last step, you will learn how often to alternate treatments, what to do after lunch, and some very simple tips that will greatly help you keep fresh breath all day. For the conclusion of the fresh breath cleaning process click here.
