THE SINUS IRRIGATOR. A NECESSARY TOOL !
A Sinus Irrigator...what for?
Mucus production disorders are a real source of nuisance and a definite cause for chronic bad breath.
Depending on your condition, the sinus irrigator will provide you with real relief by regulating mucus production AND it’s flow in your nasal passages as well as in the back of your throat.
How does mucus cause sinus bad breath?
Anaerobic bacteria will use mucus as shelter from saliva and oxygen present in your mouth to protect itself. It will also feed on mucus. Mucus contains different strands of proteins, one of the bacteria’s favourite food sources! As a result, they will release a profusion of volatile sulphur compound smelling of cabbage or gasoline.
But another important reasons to remove stagnating mucus is the fact that it will allow them to reproduce undisturbed in vast numbers further worsening the bacterial imbalance in your mouth. Just to give you an idea what I mean by ‘bacterial imbalance’, an unhealthy mouth can have several BILLIONS of such bacteria per square centimetre!! ( 1cm = 0.4inch)
How can the sinus irrigator help me?
Whether the cause of you congestion is due to the common cold, allergies, chemicals, or any other reason, your sinus disorder is usually one of two things:
1/ Your mucus membrane is overworking and producing excess mucus. This will cause excessive nasal discharge and nauseous feelings from too much mucus being evacuated to the stomach.
2/ You don’t produce enough mucus causing the little you do produce to be too thick and will tend to stagnate near its production area in the sinus and at the back of the throat.
In either case, the irrigator will help regulate mucus production and enhance ciliary flow.
What about regular nasal sprays?
Over the counter nasal sprays contain preservatives and irritating additives that will harm and burn your nasal passages through long term use. With the irrigator used in conjunction with an iodine-free nasal powder, you will moisturize and cleanse your sinus through repeated use.
That is the main benefit of the irrigator, with its pulsating ability, it will naturally flush out mucus and germs without resorting to medication. It also has the advantage of being used up to twice a day with no long term side effects whatsoever!
